Joint Ventures

We deliver many of our projects in partnership with 3rd parties, through joint ventures.

We're currently engaged in several joint ventures, both formal and informal, each specialising in a particular sector, from industrial and office to high-end residential developments.

  • Buredi Limited (Buredi) a joint venture with The Burrell Company specialising in quality urban regeneration with an excellent track record for successfully developing inner city sites, Buredi's current projects include Madelvic.
  • PARC Craigmillar Limited (PARC / ParcLife) a joint venture with The City of Edinburgh Council has a 10-year programme to redevelop and regenerate Craigmillar, to create new homes, schools, shops, sports facilities and new parks as well as providing job opportunities and better transport links.
  • Edinburgh Industrial Estates Limited (EIEL) a joint venture with J Smart & Co (Contractors) plc has delivered two speculative and very successful industrial estates - the A1 Industrial Estate on the eastern side of Edinburgh and Starlaw Park at Livingston, West Lothian.
  • New Edinburgh Limited (NEL) a joint venture between Miller Group and CEC Holdings Ltd, the parent company of the EDI Group.  NEL has been developing Edinburgh Park since 1990.
  • North Ayrshire Ventures Limited (NAV), a joint venture with North Ayrshire Council which has delivered two successful speculative office developments in Saltcoats and Kilwinning, bringing over 300 jobs to the area. NAV’s latest project is the Ardrossan Harbour Community Health Centre.
  • Bells Mills Limited a joint venture between EDI, The Burrell Company and Glasgow-based housebuilders, Bishop Loch Developments, which is currently on site witha residential project at Bells Mills on the Water of Leith.
  • Edinburgh Zoo an unincorporated joint venture with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland in which EDI has the right to draw down any surplus land, which is capable of securing planning consent. The Zoo’s master plan process is complete and was launched at the start of 2006.
  • Lamb’s House working in partnership with the National Trust, this project will restore Lambs House, which is a building regarded as one of the most important Merchant’s Houses in Scotland and is category A listed, within its historic setting and will create 9 residential units and 1,750 sq ft of offices.
  • Phoenix Club working in partnership with an independent Youth Club, the Phoenix Club, this project is to create approximately 23 residential flatted units and a new day centre for the Phoenix Club.
