Tron Nursery, Edinburgh

Tron Nursery is the first purpose built nursery to be built for the City Council since before the Second World War.  The design is by Allan Murray Architects who were awarded the commission following a Scotland-wide architectural competition.

The management and funding of this development was carried out under a partnership between the EDI Group, Castle Rock Housing Association and Buredi Ltd. The nursery was complete and fully operational in August 2002.

This released the site occupied by the former 1930's Tron Nursery for a housing and office development for The EDI Group and Castle Rock Housing Association.

Scooped Edinburgh Architectural Association (EAA) Silver Medal Award in February 2003, EAA Client of the Year for Buredi Ltd and the British Construction Industry Project Award 2003.

The delivery vehicle was Buredi Ltd a joint venture between EDI and The Burrell Company.
