Donald Wilson is currently a Bailie and Councillor for Sighthill Gorgie in the City of Edinburgh Council where he has been a Councillor since 1999. He is also Convener of the South West Edinburgh Neighbourhood Partnership. Donald was previously on the Board of EDI and was also the Chair of the Edinburgh and Lothians Tourist Board till 2005 and Chair of the Edinburgh International Science Festival 1999-2007. In the Council he was previously Executive Member for Smart City.
